Will I be excluded from the Syndicate if the annual subscription is not renewed?

Answer: According to the Kurdistan Region Act of Law Practice No. 17 of 1999, the amended and effective law, the lawyer renews his identity and pays his annual subscriptions to the Bar Association and the Lawyers’ Pension Fund in the months of January and February of each year. In the event of non-renewal in these two months, he will be fined (35%) in the fund and (25%) in the Syndicate. But if the lawyer does not renew his identity (annual subscriptions) for two consecutive years, his name is excluded from the lawyers’ roll and he is not considered a lawyer except when he submits a request for re-affiliation, then approval of the Bar Council and the payment of fees.
